Dynamics of supercavitating vehicles with cone cavitators

The work is devoted to theoretical and experimental investigations of dynamics high-speed underwater supercavitating vehicles with cone cavitators. cavitators are considered as operating controls the vehicle motion. mathematical model a “slender” unsteady cavity based on G.V.Logvinovich principle independence section expansion used. Experimental studies rotary were carried out at tank Institute Hydromechanics NAS Ukraine. Based test results, approximate dependences both drag coefficient lift an inclined cavitator angle in wide range angles proposed. determined when more effective comparison equivalent disk cavitator. With help computer simulation, number problems investigated: balancing vehicle, motion stabilization, maneuvering control. For first time, verification “as whole” was performed by testing cavity-piercing fins degree freedom pitch.
